Italian sausage is definitely a process that takes time, although not authentic by any means this Italian sausage has the flavor profile needed when using this ingredient. This simple Italian sausage recipe is great on pizza or for pasta or sausage and peppers sandwich, I’m sure you will find many uses for this recipe. You can certainly freeze this if your not planning on using it right away.

Preheat oven to 350° F.
Toast fennel seeds until fragrant, probably a minute or two, mix together all of the fennel seeds, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper with the ground pork until thoroughly mixed.
Break the pork into pieces on a baking sheet and place in oven until browned about 20 minutes.
You can wrap the sausage with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight before use or place wrapped sausage in a freezer bag if you decide to freeze it.
